2011 Trip Updates
Day 6
The last leg of our heritage tour was definitely one to be remembered due to the unusual presence of the Holy Ghost in our midst. After watching a great reenactment of the famous Patrick Henry speech in Richmond, VA we journeyed to the 1802 Sandy Creek Baptist Meeting House. Hear we learned of how the Bible belt as we know it today came from this very location as a small group of believers allowed God to use them in a mighty way. While praying for such power as those heroes of the faith God’s presences covered that meeting house and truly revived many thirsty souls. To God be the glory for all the great things he hath done on this Heritage Tour. Excited already about next year July 9th-14th make your reservation today to be with us!

Day 5
After studying earlier in the week the sermon “Sinners in the hands of an angry God” around the memorial we started off today around this great man of God’s grave. He is buried in the Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, NJ. While preacher and singing around this site God moved in a tremendous way! We are so humbled and thankful for how the Lord has continually met with us this week in a mighty way! We spent the rest of the day site seeing in Philadelphia and Washington, DC.

Day 4
Our Thursday study of church history was certainly one of great blessings. We started our day at the Wightman’s Cemetery where we learned of this family’s Christian heritage. Over five generations of preachers came from this family including the last martyr of England and the founders of the First Baptist Churches in Rhode Island and New York. From there we headed to the grave side of Fanny Crosby, the famous hymn writer. After watching her biography, we were so greatly inspired by the love she and God shared, that worship broke out on the bus before we arrived. The unusual power of the Holy Spirit fell upon us as we prayed at her grave. We then spent our evening in the First Baptist Church in New York City and later enjoyed site seeing in the city. It is our desire that as you watch this, God will stir you to dedicate yourself wholly to God just as these great people of faith did!

Day 3
Today we journeyed to some of the most holy ground in America. We started the day at the gravesite of David Brainard where the Lord met with us in a special way with great power. God graced us with a Spirit of desire that we might burn out for Christ just as Brainard did. From there we traveled to Connecticut and stood where Jonathan Edwards preached Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. During the preaching the Holy Spirit visited us in a marvelous way. Under the Spirit’s direction we had a season of prayer seeking God for a true revival one more time in America. We had the privilege of visiting a few other places but these two stood above the rest by the power of almighty God that still rest upon these locations. It is our prayer that these clips will stir and challenge you to seek God for revival in this dark hour.

Day 2
After a great start to the Heritage Tour 2011 it was as if day two was even sweeter. This morning we journeyed over to Missionary Rock where we studied the birthing of Baptist missions. It was here that Judson, Rice, and 5 others met to pray and God burdened them for world missions. From there we headed over to the Old South Church that George Whitefield founded in Newburyport, MA as well as D.L. Moody’s gravesite and tabernacle in Northampton, MA. Between these two locations we literally see the birthing of missions and evangelism as we know it today. Glory be to God for the foundation and price these men paid that we might have the blessings we do today! Tomorrow is yet another day filled with great heritage so check back with us tomorrow night for another update.

Day 1
The 2011 Heritage Tour is off to a great start with day one coming to a close. After a wonderful flight with the Lord’s safety we spend all day studying in Boston, MA. We visited the place where Obadiah Holmes was beaten for the cause of Christ, several American Revolution sites, Tremont Baptist Temple and the place where D.L. Moody accepted Christ. The Holy Spirit of God met with us in such a mighty way that bystanders drew near looking for help in the Lord. We give Jesus all the glory for what He has done today! Tomorrow we are off to upstate Massachusetts so check in tomorrow night for another heritage update and a video from Bro. Greg!
